Flipkart, the Walmart-owned e-commerce firm has roped in Seema Nair for the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO). Nair moves from Reliance Industries where she spent over six years, with her last designation being that of senior EVP, head-Reliance Group HR Office and head-Reliance Group HR digitisation.
Nair completed her postgraduation from XLRI in 1994, following which she joined CG Power and Industrial Solutions as management trainee for a little over a year. In 1997, she joined Microland as interim head HR, and head-HR-Planetasia.com. Three years into this role, she moved to Hughes Software Systems. There, she served as head-HR, Hughes Software Systems Bangalore Dev Centre, for a little less than three years.
Her next stop was Intel in 2003, where she looked after leadership development for Intel APAC, Japan and China.
Seema Nair’s association with Cisco began in March of 2008, when she joined as senior manager-human resources. Almost three years into this role, she was elevated to head of HR operations, Cisco India and SAARC. By October 2012, she had reched the position of director and head-HR, AsiaPac, Japan and China services.
January of 2014 saw her elevated to the role of director and CHRO, Cisco India and SAARC.
2017 to 2018 was witness to her playing SVP and CHRO, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, based out of Bengaluru.
It was in July of 2018 that she moved to Reliance Industries, where her tenure lasted over six years.
In her latest assignment at Flipkart, BS reports that she will oversee human resources working closely with the leadership
She has been a member of the D&I Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry for over two and a half years now.
Known to be an empowering and enabling leader, Seema Nair believes in leading from the front. Her ability to keep critical, large scale and complex projects on track and moving forward will stand her in good stead in her new assignment at Flipkart. HRKatha wishes her all the best.
