Hero Vired has appointed Prakhar Kasar as its chief executive officer. Kasar has been brought on at a time when the learntech platform, which is a part of the Hero Group, is trying to expand its reach and impact in the online education space.

Backed by over 16 years of experience, Kasar began his professional journey with Pepsico India, as management trainee, in 2008. Within a year, he was promoted to territory development manager. Two and a half years into this role, he was promoted again, to assistant brand manager. By 2014, he had become the brand manager-beverage innovation, based out of Gurgaon.

In 2015, he joined MakeMyTrip as senior manager-marketing. A year and a half later, he was elevated to associate director-marketing. In this role, for the next one year, he successfully led the CRM vertical, a ten-member team, driving business engagement, consumer lifecycle management, and lifetime value through a data-driven marketing strategy. The year 2017 saw him being promoted to the position of director-revenue, hotels. A little over three years later, he was elevated to vice president and business head MyBiz:Make My Trip for Work.

Kasar, who graduated in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

Akshay Munjal, founder, Hero Vired, is sure that Kasar’s “vision aligns perfectly with our mission to bridge the gap between traditional degrees and real-world employability. His proven ability to scale businesses and build high-performing teams makes him the ideal leader to take Hero Vired to new heights.”

Kasar’s two-pronged approach in his new assignment will be to “focus on enhancing B2C offerings, particularly our live learning experiences that cater to a premium audience. This builds on Hero Vired’s existing strengths while setting the stage for broader expansion. Looking ahead, we see significant opportunities in the B2B and B2I markets, as well as potential to reach new consumer segments.”

He understands that the platform is all “about democratising education” and assures that Hero Vired remains “committed to providing quality learning opportunities that are accessible and relevant to the Indian context. In a world increasingly shaped by AI and facing a challenging job market, our role in upskilling and reskilling professionals is more crucial now than ever.”

Kasar plans to leverage Hero Vired’s strengths in pedagogy and teaching methodologies, combined with the latest tech advancements, to drive the company’s growth.

HRKatha wishes Prakhar Kasar all the best in his mission to scale the learntech starupt to maturity and deliver innovative learning solutions to give graduates and working professionals an all-important edge in today’s dynamic job market.
