    Manish Kumar takes on CHRO role at Paytm Payments Bank

    Backed by over 2 decades of experience, Kumar has moved from UBI Services where he was chief people officer

    Manish Kumar has been appointed chief human resources officer (CHRO), Paytm Payments Bank. He has moved from UBI Services, where he was chief people officer.

    An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Social Service, Kumar served as vice president-human resources, Reliance Capital, for over three years, from 2003 to 2006. He then moved to Alkem Laboratories in November, 2006, as senior vice president-human resources. This role required him to strengthen the leadership pipeline- hire business critical talent for manufacturing units, supply chain, regulatory affairs, QA/QC, and for the business divisions of chronic product segments and help the group in aligning its international business interests. A year into this role, he moved to IDFC Bank, as senior director and group head-human resources and administration.

    Manish Kumar’s next stop was Dhanlaxmi Bank, where he served as president-human resources and CSR for over three and a half years. During his tenure, he successfully maintained effective and harmonious relations with unions and officers’ associations, and brought in new technology and cutting-edge HR practices.

    In April 2013 Kumar joined RBS as head-people services and delivery, India region.

    September of 2019 saw him take on the role of president and CHRO, Ziqitza Health Care. Two years later, he switched to Poonawalla Fincorp, as group CHRO.

    From August 2023 to January 2024, he served as partner, Centre For Investment Education and Learning (CIEL) CBMG Practice for a short while before joining UBI Services as CPO, in January 2024
