Adani Group has elevated Manoj Kumar Sharma to the position of group head-IR. He has moved from within the Group, that is, from Ambuja Cements, after a one and a half year-long stint as chief human resources officer. His association with the Adani Group has been a long one, having begun in 2008.

Sharma comes with four decades of experience, having started his professional journey with Ranbaxy, in August 1985. Five years later, he moved to Aditya Birla Group, as general manager. He spent 12 years there, working out of Bhiwani/Renukoot.

In 2004, Manoj Kumar Sharma joined HEG (LNJ Bhilwara Group) as general manager-HRD & admin. Two years later, he moved to Flex Industries, as general manager, in 2006. He then moved from Noida to Nagpur to take up the role of vice president-HR, Ispat Industries.

Sharma’s next stop was Adani Infra, in 2008. He joined as senior vice president-HR, working out of Ahmedabad. From September 2012 to 2013, he served as senior vice president-HR, A&M Resources, based out of Hyderabad.

He was back in Ahmedabad playing head-HR, Adani Power. Almost three years later he moved on to Adani Green Energy as head-HR (solar business and renewable energy). After a little over two years, Sharma switched to Adani Electricity Mumbai as senior executive vice president-HR, AEML & head HR. His tenure at Adani Electricity lasted over five years, from 2018 to 2023.

November of 2023 was witness to Manoj Kumar Sharma taking up the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO), Ambuja Cements.

The Adani Group, through Ambuja Cements and ACC, has 22 integrated cement manufacturing plants and 21 cement grinding units, with a total cement capacity of 89 MTPA. Meanwhile, Adani Power operates 11 thermal power plants . The Group also has manufacturing units for defense and aerospace equipment, solar PV panels and other industrial products.

An alumnus of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan—from where he completed a postgraduate degree in industrial relations and personnel development, in 1986—Manoj Kumar Sharma is known to be a great leader, thinker, innovator and writer.
