After a successful decade-long tenure with Hero MotoCorp, Ratan Agarwal has joined Moon Beverages as chief human resources officer (CHRO).

This alumnus of the Xavier Institute of Social Service began his HR journey in 1989 with Usha Martin Industries, where he worked as assistant manager-HR, for over five years. In 1994, he took up the role of head-HR at Britannia Industries, where he implemented a mega employee involvement HR transformation project called Abhyudaya..

His next stop was Escorts in 1996, where he served as chief manager-HR. After successfully managing employee lifecycle and initiating unique employee-development and involvement programmes for over five years, he joined MAPS India, as head-HR, in 2001. For the next four years, he played country head -HR for the multinational auto company headquartered in Turin, Italy.

August of 2005 saw him join Trident Group as VP-HR, but less than a year and a half later, he switched again. This time, he began a three-year long association with Reliance Retail, as AVP and country head-HR, Reliance Retail Value Format.

In the year 2010, he moved to Maruti Suzuki as vice president-HR. This stint lasted almost four and a half years, before he joined Hero MotoCorp in August, 2014.

Initially, for almost five years, he served as head HR (P), before being elevated to head HR (R&D). In this role, the core focus was creating cultural alignment and change management. In August 2022, he was again promoted to senior leader-Hero Academy-corporate HR.

Agarwal is known to be an energetic person with a direct and engaging personality, who thrives in a cross-functional team, contributing significantly to the business and bringing value to all stakeholders.

HRKatha wishes Ratan Agarwal all the luck in his new assignment at Moon Beverages, the authorised bottler of The Coca-Cola Company.
