Ogilvy Singapore has elevated Sharon Ooi to the role of chief talent officer, Singapore and Malaysia. Ooi’s association with the company that offers advertising services began in June of 2021, when she joined as director-talent, Singapore and Malaysia.
Sharon Ooi began her professional journey with Global Airfreight International, as HR executive in 2001. For the next three years, she handled employee recruitment, appraisals, drafted HR proposals and policies, reviewed employee feedback and analysed employee statistic reports among other responsibilities.
In 2007 Ooi moved to DHL Supply Chain Singapore as HR executive for a two and a half year-long stint.
Her next stop was Astrata Group, where she joined as HR manager, in 2010.
December of 2011 saw Sharon Ooi moving to Leo Burnett to take on the role of HR and admin manager. This newly-created role required her to improve employee engagement, and also set up various HR processes and practices for the advertising service agency.
In 2014, her role at Leo Burnett was expanded to regional people and culture manager, APAC. Another promotion made her HR director for Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Prodigious, a role she successfully played till 2018. In between, she also took on the added responsibility of HR director, Publicis Communications in April 2016.
Her association with Design Bridge lasted three and a half years, from 2018 to 2021 after which she joined Ogilvy Singapore.
Known to be an organised and reliable individual capable of handling any situation calmly and objectively, Sharon Ooi enjoys mentoring and engaging with people.
