Infosys advises Pune employees to bring meals from home amid LPG supply constraints

Employees at the Pune campus of Infosys have been advised to bring food from home after disruptions in commercial LPG supply affected operations at campus food courts. The advisory comes as the ongoing tensions in West Asia begin to influence supply chains that support large corporate facilities.

According to reports, an internal message was shared with employees by the campus canteen committee on Thursday, 12 March, 2026. The communication explained that LPG usage across several sectors had been adjusted due to the current geopolitical situation, leading to controlled distribution for commercial food and beverage services. As a result, vendors operating within the campus food courts have been receiving smaller LPG allocations than usual.

The reduced supply has affected the ability of food vendors to run kitchens at full capacity. Employees have been informed that food courts will continue operating but with a limited menu for the time being. Staff members have also been encouraged to carry meals from home and avoid scheduling events on campus that depend on catering services until the situation improves.

The impact has already become visible inside the campus, with fewer food options available and longer queues at the counters that remain operational. Some vendors have begun sourcing cooked food from their central kitchens outside the campus. At the same time, efforts are being made to expand the use of alternative cooking methods, including electric appliances and biofuel-based arrangements.

Similar adjustments are reportedly being observed at other Infosys campuses, including those in Bengaluru and Chennai. In several locations, certain live cooking counters have been temporarily suspended while menus have been trimmed to accommodate the limited fuel supply.

Despite these operational changes, the Indian government has maintained that the country’s overall fuel supply remains stable.
