Banswara Syntex has announced a key leadership transition in its human resources function, with Marazban Velati stepping down as chief human resources officer and Indrajeet Sunil Sukate being appointed as head- corporate human resources.

The changes will come into effect at the close of 31 March, 2026, for Velati’s exit, while Sukate will assume his new role from 1 April, 2026. The transition ensures continuity in HR leadership at a time when organisations in the manufacturing and textiles sector are increasingly focusing on workforce stability, industrial relations, and organisational transformation.

Velati’s exit comes just about a year after he took on the CHRO role at Banswara Syntex. Velati is backed by extensive experience across the textile and manufacturing ecosystem, having previously held senior HR leadership roles at organisations such as Alok Industries and Sutlej Textiles and Industries. His earlier stint as CHRO at Sutlej Textiles and leadership roles in compliance at Welspun India and Alok Industries reflect a career deeply rooted in industrial relations, governance, and large-scale workforce management.

Velati holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University and a Master’s degree in Psychology, equipping him with a blend of technical and behavioural expertise—an increasingly valuable combination in HR leadership roles that demand both operational rigour and people sensitivity.

Taking over the HR leadership mandate, Sukate brings over 18 years of experience across HR and industrial relations functions, particularly within manufacturing-led organisations. His career spans companies such as Kabra Extrusiontechnik, IG Petrochemicals, Indo Amines and Shera PL, where he has worked across diverse HR mandates including workforce planning, compliance, and culture transformation.

Sukate’s expertise lies in building HR strategies aligned with business objectives, driving leadership development, and executing transformation initiatives that directly impact organisational performance and P&L outcomes. His strong grounding in industrial relations is particularly relevant for a company such as Banswara Syntex, where workforce dynamics and operational continuity are closely intertwined.

He holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in HR from Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, reinforcing his academic foundation in HR strategy and people management.

The leadership change comes at a time when companies in the textiles and manufacturing sectors are navigating a complex landscape shaped by evolving labour dynamics, compliance requirements, and the need for productivity-led growth. In this context, the transition from Velati to Sukate reflects a continued emphasis on strengthening HR frameworks while ensuring alignment with business priorities.

As Sukate steps into the role, the focus is likely to remain on enhancing workforce effectiveness, strengthening industrial relations, and driving organisational capability—areas that are increasingly central to sustaining competitiveness in traditional sectors undergoing gradual transformation.
