JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa has appointed Amrita Kaul Rawat as director-human resources, bringing more than 15 years of experience in hospitality across India and the UAE. In her new role at JW Marriott Mussoorie, Rawat will lead the property’s human resources function, with a focus on talent development, leadership capability, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and workplace culture. Her operational background is expected to complement the resort’s people strategy as it focuses on employee experience and service delivery.

Rawat joins the Mussoorie property from Marriott Harbour Hotels and Suites in Dubai, where she served as human resources manager from March 2022 to March 2025. In the role, she worked across employee engagement, HR business partnering and HR project management.

She has spent more than a decade with Marriott International, having held several operational and leadership positions before moving into HR. At JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, she served as director of services from March 2020 to April 2022, following earlier roles as Executive Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager.

Rawat began her association with Marriott as Housekeeping Manager at JW Marriott in Delhi, where she worked from February 2014 to October 2015. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly six years with ITC Hotels, progressing from management trainee to assistant manager. At ITC Mughal, she managed the housekeeping function, including room management, resource allocation, costing and ordering, and used data and Six Sigma practices to support quality improvement and optimise capital expenditure.

Her career, therefore, combines hands-on hotel operations with human resources leadership, giving her experience of workforce planning, employee engagement, service operations and people management within the hospitality sector.

Rawat holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration and Management from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Jaipur.
