As part of its Pride Month initiatives, Saraf Furniture has announced an expansion plan that revolves around diversity and inclusion while pursuing business growth. The company plans to hire at least 500 LGBTQ+ employees and open 50 new offline retail outlets across India over the next three years.

Known for its omnichannel presence and solid Sheesham wood products, Saraf Furniture is taking a bold step by committing to staff its upcoming stores primarily with LGBTQ+ employees. The recruitment drive is aimed at creating inclusive workspaces that celebrate diversity while providing meaningful jobs to historically underrepresented communities.

The furniture brand has already integrated LGBTQ+ talent across various functions in its operations. According to company data, the retention rate among these employees has exceeded 90 per cent, a strong indicator of the company’s inclusive culture and support systems. Encouraged by this success, Saraf Furniture is now looking to scale up its efforts during Pride Month and beyond.

Raghunandan Saraf, founder and CEO, emphasised the human side of the expansion. “Through this initiative, we are not just opening new showrooms—we are building spaces that offer dignity, representation and belonging to the LGBTQ+ community,” he said.

To make this transition smooth and impactful, Saraf Furniture also plans to roll out sensitisation workshops for its existing employees. The company is strengthening its collaboration with LGBTQ+ advocacy organisations and enhancing internal support mechanisms to ensure an inclusive environment across all levels.

Launched in 2014, Saraf Furniture operates as a direct manufacturer of Sheesham wood furniture, offering over 6,000 product varieties. With a focus on quality and sustainability, the company sources wood directly and processes it through its own manufacturing facilities.
