Kia Motors India appoints Hardeep Singh Brar as national head – sales & marketing

Brar has earlier held senior leadership positions across sales, network, and marketing functions at Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors & Nissan

Kia Motors India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kia Corporation, today announced the appointment of Hardeep Singh Brar as national head of sales and marketing, with immediate effect.

Brar will be responsible for enhancing Kia’s leadership position in the Indian market and for enabling the next wave of growth. Brar brings over two decades of experience in the automotive industry to Kia, having most recently served at Great Wall Motors as Director Marketing & Sales.

Prior to this, Brar has held senior leadership positions across sales, network, and marketing functions at Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors & Nissan. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab and is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

On his appointment as National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia, Mr Hardeep Singh Brar said, “I have followed Kia’s India journey and witnessed the way Kia has disrupted the market with three segment-leading products. It is an exciting phase that Kia Motors India is in right now and I look forward to continuing Kia’s phenomenal run and shaping the future for the brand.”

Hardeep Singh Brar is a reputed leader in the automotive industry, known for his expertise in sales, marketing, customer service, and network development for the brands he has served in his career.

In April 2017, Kia Motors signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, India, to build a new manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, completed, and commenced the mass production in August 2019. The manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of approximately 300,000 units. Kia Motors India has launched three vehicles for Indian market – The Seltos, The Carnival and The Sonet and has made a mark in India with product and service quality and reliability.

The Seltos, establishing itself as a trusted product by brand Kia, has crossed 100,000 sales milestone in just one year of its sales period. Kia Motors is globally known to make quality vehicles, which address the gaps in the automotive market, and Seltos too have won many accolades in India. Tasting initial success, third product of Kia Motors India the Sonet has secured 6523 bookings on the first day of commencement of pre-bookings.

In April 2020, Kia’s two global products Telluride and Soul EV have bagged world’s most prestigious automotive awards – The World Car of the Year and The Urban Car of the Year respectively at the WCOTY 2020. Kia Motors India has the widespread network of 265 customer touchpoints, in 160 cities across Tier 1, 2 and 3 cities in India.
