    Atreyee Chowdhury is the new head of HR, people partner, Walmart Sourcing

    Walmart Sourcing has appointed Atreyee Chowdhury as its new head of HR, people partner, India hub. She has been with Walmart for almost six years now. This alumna of Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies brings over 17 years of experience to the table, having begun her professional journey with Cybage Software as a technical writer-documentation, in 2008.

    From November 2009 to January 2011 she served IBM Global Business Services, as an instructional designer. Her next stop was Accenture, where she worked as instructional design senior analyst-content development centre (CDC) for about two and a half years, working out of Bengaluru. There, for about two and a half years, she led end-to-end development of scalable training solutions, achieving 100% compliance with design and branding standards.

    October of 2013 saw her joining Simplilearn, as senior instructional designer.

    Tech Mahindra roped Atreyee Chowdhury in as a learning consultant in April of 2014. For the next four years she successfully led full project lifecycles, managing cross-functional teams (onsite & offshore) and collaborating with vendor partners.

    From May 2018 to September 2019 she was associated with ICF as learning solutions specialist. This role saw her contributing to and managing ICF’s corporate learning & development function, including identifying training needs, designing learning programmes, managing projects, leading the team, and overseeing the budget.

    Her association with Walmart Global Tech India began in September 2019, as manager II-learning content design and development (LCDD). Three years into this role she was elevated to senior manager I- design services, Walmart Academy, ALL. Another promotion in April 2024 made her senior manager-associate experience, GTL. This role saw her leading a 22-member team driving strategic L&D initiatives across Walmart Academy, GTL – frontline, and campus programmes, impacting 2M+ associates.

    Atreyee Chowdhury considers this appointment a “significant milestone in my career and is a true reflection of something I deeply believe – there is a path for everyone at Walmart.     Known for her clear communication and supportive leadership, Atreyee Chowdhury’s urge to listen to her team and ability to connect with each individual will prove to be an asset to Walmart Sourcing, a division that works with and supports all Walmart business divisions.
