Aptech, the Indian non-formal vocational training firm has roped in Atul Jain to be its new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO). Jain is backed by three decades of experience and has led transformational change across institutional and B2C segments, working in the areas of sales, marketing, operations and business strategy.
After completing mechanical engineering from IIT-Delhi, Jain also obtained an MBA from IIM-Calcutta. From 1994 to 2000, he was marketing manager and brand manager, the Coca-Cola Company, based out of Mumbai. From 2001 to 2004, he served Bharti Airtel as chief marketing officer.
His next stop was Godfrey Phillips, where he served as chief operating officer for three years before joining Jumbo Electronics as general manager and country head-India, in 2007.
His association with Samsung began in 2010, as vice president and head of sales-mobile handsets, India. By the time he left Samsung six years later, he had become global senior director-home appliances division, South Korea.
January of 2016 saw him joining LeEco as chief operating officer, working out of Beijing, China for almost a year and a half.
For four years, from 2017 to 2021, he served as part-time chairman, Indian Fan Manufacturers’ Association-CII body, Confederation of Indian Industry.
He played executive VP and business head, Orient Electric, for six years, from 2017 to 2023.
Atul Jain has been an angel investor for over eight years now.
In his new assignment at Aptech, he will work closely with the Board of Directors and spearhead Aptech’s strategic vision, driving sustainable business growth while fostering innovation and adapting to an ever-evolving market landscape. With a commitment to upholding Aptech’s legacy of excellence, he will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s brand and outreach strategies, while cultivating a culture of integrity and creativity. Jain will also oversee the alignment of Aptech’s operations with its mission and values, ensuring growth and success.
