Adobe has roped in Swati Rustagi as vice president-employee experience (EX), India. Rustagi will lead the India EX team’s people strategy, reporting directly to Gloria Chen, chief people officer and executive vice president, employee experience, Adobe.

Prior to joining Adobe, Rustagi served as the chief human resources officer at Paytm. Rustagi had moved to Paytm in April 2023 after a four year-long tenure at Amazon.

This alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences began her professional journey with Hindustan Lever, in 1997. During her nine-year long stint there, she played the roles of HR manager, employee relations manager and corporate learning manager.

With over 20 years of leadership experience in both Indian and international markets, she has significantly influenced programmes focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, organisational structure, and career and talent development.

Rustagi has held notable positions at Johnson & Johnson, Merrill Lynch, Hindustan Unilever and Max Health Care.

In 2006, she joined DSP Merrill Lynch as vice president human resources. However, a year later, she moved again, to join Johnson & Johnson Medical as director-human resources. For the next three years, she successfully oversaw specialist areas of recruitment, learning and development (L&D), talent management, employee engagement, as well as compensation and benefits.

Then came a short stint at Patni Computer Systems in the year 2011 after which she began her association with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, serving as global head-human resources. By the time she moved on from Glenmark, she was executive vice president.

She then took a career break to enjoy motherhood in 2015, only to return as director-chief people officer, at Max Healthcare, in 2016. Two years into this role, she again moved to join Amazon.

At Amazon, she was director-human resources for three years, based out of Bengaluru. In 2021, she was elevated to director-DEI, international markets.

Currently, Adobe India employs 8,000 people across Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, making it Adobe’s largest workforce outside the US. In April 2023, Adobe expanded its footprint by renting an additional 2,000 seats in Bengaluru.
