Cushman & Wakefield, the global commercial real-estate services firm, has appointed Ronita Majumdar Basu as head of people partnering for India, South-East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

An alumna of XLRI Jamshedpur Ronita Majumdar began her professional journey with GE Capital. She entered the organisation as a management trainee in June of 2006 and was soon elevated to employee relations and hiring manager, handling 180+ employees, across 11 locations. Another promotion in 2007 made her business HR manager. October of 2009 saw her essaying the role of HR manager.

After a little less than five years with GE Capital, Ronita Majumdar found herself taking up the role of HR generalist at Citibank India. Just over two years into this role, she was elevated to lead HR generalist (vice president), in 2012.

After a tenure that lasted over five years, Ronita Majumdar moved on from Citibank to HT Media. She started off as general manager in September of 2015 and was elevated to assistant vice president in 2017.

It was in January of 2019 that Majumdar began her association with JLL India as senior director, human resources. She was promoted to global people partner, JLL Business Services in October of 2023.

Now, in her latest assignment at Cushman & Wakefield, she will lead the firm’s people strategy across the dynamic markets of India, SEA and MEA. Her focus will be to align talent initiatives with business priorities and long-term growth ambitions.

Anshul Jain, chief executive, India, SEA, MEA and APAC Office and retail, believes that Majumdar’s “business insight and people leadership will be key to strengthening our people agenda and supporting long-term growth”.
Majumdar looks forward to “strengthening people practices that enable capability, engagement and sustained performance.”
