Rustomjee, the real-estate company, has appointed Salil Chinchore as group chief human resources officer (GCHRO). He moves from ElasticRun, a B2B Ecommerce platform for rural India, where he was serving as CHRO since August of 2022.
Chinchore, carries more than 25 years of experience in HR and has worked with big brands such as Asian Paints, Mondelez and Pidilite.
Having postgraduated in HR and IR from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), in 1997, Chinchore started his career at Asian Paints as a personnel manager managing HR and IR responsibilities at the factory. He served the longest stint of his career at Asian Paints, spending more than 11 years there.
In this decade-long stint at the firm, Chinchore climbed up the ranks and served his last position as the general manager where he reported to the manufacturing head, taking care of IR and HR activities of more than 900 employees.
Chinchore’s next stop was Mondelez, as the associate vice president – HR, where he partnered with key functions such as supply chain and projects team, covering over 4000 employees. Two years into the role, Chinchore got promoted to the position of vice president – HR. He spent a total of more than five years at Mondelez.
In 2014, he moved to TE Connectivity as the director – HR, heading HR for all business units in India for the company and the global shared services centre.
He also spent close to two years with Pidilite as its president – HR before joining Godrej Agrovet as head-HR in July of 2017.
At Godrej Agrovet, for five years, he successfully partnered with the business, heading the HR and IR function and improving the talent effectiveness of the company.
It was in August of 2022 that he moved to ElasticRun where he spent over three and a half years as CHRO.
Now, in his latest assignment at Rustomjee, he Salil Chinhore will be tasked with leading the people strategy, strengthening talent capabilities, and ensuring organisational effectiveness among other responsibilities.
