    Sakshi Sarmandal appointed director-talent & culture, Machan Resorts

    Sakshi Sarmandal has taken on the role of director-talent & culture, Machan Resorts. She moves from JW Mariott Juhu where she was serving as training manager.

    Having begun her professional journey as an executive at PizzaHut, in 2009, Sarmandal has surely come a long way.

    Less than two years into her stint as executive at PizzaHut, Sarmandal moved to Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces as front office executive, in August of 2011. After handling all front office as well as learning and development-related activities for a year, she moved to International Institute of Hotel Management, Pune as professor.

    Till 2014, Sakshi Sarmandal was part of the faculty for business communications and industrial etiquette at the institute. She worked as support faculty for housekeeping and front office and trained students on soft skills and campus interviews, resume building and industrial grooming. From October 2015 to February 2017, she freelanced as a teacher and trainer, based out of Raipur. During this period, she was guest lecturer for tourism and hospitality at various universities and institutes.

    December of 2017 saw her playing assistant manager-training at The Pride Hotels, India. Working out of Nagpur, she was involved in content design, development programmes, coaching, mentoring, skill development, talent management, budgeting, guest satisfaction and so on for almost two years.

    Her next stop was Taurus Sarovar Portico, where she served as training manager for almost two years before switching to Sayaji Hotels as deputy training manager, in June 2022. Within 11 months, she was elevated to cluster training manager, based out of Indore.

    At Machan, her key responsibilities will include talent acquisition, culture strategy, collaboration and diversity and inclusion.

    Sakshi Sarmandal holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management and has also completed an MBA in human resource development from the Welingkar Institute of Management.
