After six successful years with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sandeep Rath has now stepped into the role of head-HR, Kotak Mahindra Prime.

This alumnus of Management Development Institute began his professional journey with Future Group in 2011, where he performed a Gap analysis between SAP and Sparsh, the in-built HRIS system of Future Group. He then interned with Amway and later, Aditya Birla Group before joining ICICI Bank, as HR recruitment manager, in May of 2012.

Just over a year and a half into this role, he was elevated to manager-employee relations. This role saw him relocate from Kolkata to Bhubaneshwar. Five months later, he was promoted to senior manager-sourcing and recruitment, for which he moved to Mumbai.

From 2015 to 2018, he served Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mumbai, handling key projects- digitisation of HR systems, developing assessment centres, fostering employee engagement initiatives, and managing employee relations for commercial banking.

Rath’s next stop was L&T Financial Services, in May of 2018, as zonal head-HR. For a year and nine months, he was responsible for manpower planning, forecasting and hiring for the zone. He also enabled business strategy through employee engagement and other key initiatives.

He joined Kotak Mahindra Bank as vice president in April of 2022. He was promoted to senior vice president in April of 2024. By January of 2020 he became HR lead.

In his latest role at Kotak Mahindra Prime, he is “looking forward to partnering with leaders and teams to enable growth through people”.

HRKatha wishes Sandeep Rath all the best in this endeavour!
