Dixon Technologies has roped in Industry veteran, Sunil Ranjhan, as its new chief human resources officer. In this new role, Ranjhan will strengthen the company’s entire HR strategy, creating a dynamic and engaging workplace for all.

Prior to this, Ranjhan was associated with LG Electronics as its senior VP & director-HR and management services. He joined the company in the year 2021 and was responsible to drive the HR and ER functions of all manufacturing and sales subsidiaries of LG Electronics in India.

With close to four decades of experience in human resources, Ranjhan has worked with many renowned names such as Maruti Suzuki, Apollo Tyres, Honda, Wipro and JCT Electronics.

Wipro is where Ranjhan started his professional journey. He joined the company as an executive in the year 1987, in Mumbai. After a year, Ranjhan moved to National Productivity Council as its consultant HR.

Five years later, in 1993, he moved to JCT Electronics, a JV of Hitachi. He joined the company as its manager-HR and was instrumental in providing training, process improvement, and organisational development (OD) support to three of its units in Punjab and Gujarat. He also headed the HR, industrial relations (IR) and admin functions of the Vadodra unit in Gujarat, for a whole year.

His next stop was Honda Cars, where he spent the longest time of his professional life. He joined in the year 1999, as its manager-HR. In October of the same year, he moved to Tokyo, Japan, as the company’s project coordinator-HR, heading its global HR division. His responsibilities included developing talent- management systems for local HR teams in the new markets Honda was entering during the early 2000s. This involved creating programmes for knowledge transfer from Japanese to local staff, high-potential employee-identification systems, and shadow- management programmes. He was then deputed back to India to support the establishment of Honda’s two-wheeler operations in May 2000.

From May 2000 to 2003, Ranjhan headed the HR, IR, employee engagement, HRM planning and general affairs for the car plant in India, as its operating head and GM-HR. In 2003, he again moved to Tokyo, as the company’s executive coordinator-HR, responsible for spearheading the company’s entire HR policy development for emerging markets of Asia Oceania, the Middle East and China.

In 2008, he was transferred to Honda’s Asian Motors, where he led the HRM, training, talent management and IR functions for the Asia Oceania Region of Honda at its regional headquarters in Bangkok. In 2011, he was back in India, with Honda Cars India, serving as SVP-HR and operating head.

In 2014, Ranjhan moved to Apollo Tyres as its group head-HR APMEA region and headed the HR functions of all manufacturing, sales and R&D operations of APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa) region for the firm.

In 2017, he joined LG Electronics as its VP-HR and in 2019, he moved to Maruti Suzuki as its executive VP-HR.
An alumnus of BITS Pilani, Ranjhan holds an intermediate level 3 in Japanese; speaking, reading and introductory business communication, from AOTS, Japan.
