Any Indian above 18, interested in innovation and disruptive technology, may participate in this online hackathon.

Capgemini has launched the fourth edition of its online hackathon challenge—Tech Challenge 4.0. This hackathon is designed to identify the best programmers and tech enthusiasts from across the country. The hackathon encourages young techies to be updated with relevant skills required in this age of digital disruption and provide them the opportunity to solve real world business and human challenges using emerging technologies.

In this edition, the top coders and tech professionals will be identified. They will put to use their expertise and skills in the areas of cloud, blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning, IoT, and so on.

The challenge is open to all Indian citizens above the age of 18, who possess a knack for innovation and disruptive technology.

Those who wish to participate in the challenge can register online, post which they will go through two levels of challenges including multiple-choice questions based on skill-specific tech topics and a case study presentation. The top 50 coders will then compete in a live hackathon, where participants will work in teams of five for the final challenge and also work on their individual skill challenges. The final event will be held at the Capgemini Knowledge Park in Mumbai.

The winners of the challenge will be selected based on their final presentations involving the use of emerging technologies to design innovative solutions and prototypes. The winning team will get a cash prize of INR three lakhs, and will directly qualify for the final round of interview for a potential employment opportunity at Capgemini.

Speaking about the event, Ashwin Yardi, chief operating officer at Capgemini in India said, “Digital is reshaping the technology sector, requiring us to invest in and offer opportunities to both aspiring and existing IT professionals to learn and work on new digital technologies. This year, our Tech Challenge has been conceptualised keeping in mind the huge opportunity we see in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things and cloud. Tech Challenge 4.0 will be posing exciting challenges in these emerging technologies and will enable participants to be future ready. We are looking forward to witnessing huge participation and engaging with India’s sharpest tech minds who can design cutting-edge solutions for real-world challenges.”

The contest is now live and registration is open until October 15, 2017.
