Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai has successfully completed the summer placement for students of human resources management (HRM) and labour relations (LR) – batch of 2022-24. All the 77 students were placed and 95 per cent of the batch bagged a stipend of Rs 2 lakhs and above.
A total of 33 women participated in the placement drive and a total of 77 offers were made in the HR domain. About 36 companies participated, of which two were first-time recruiters.
The highest stipend offered was Rs 4 lakhs for two months, while the average of the top 25 per cent of the offers stood at Rs 3.2 lakhs.
The mean stipend was Rs 2.62 lakhs for two months, which was 11.4 per cent more than last year, while the median stipend was Rs 3 lakhs for two months, which was 25 per cent more than last year.
The companies that participated in the summer placement drive included Nestle, Mahindra & Mahindra, Aditya Birla Group, Citi, HUL, ITC, Marico, P&G, RPG, TAS, Disney Star, Tata Steel, Aon, EY, Pernod Ricard India and Texas Instruments.
ReNew Power and PowerGrid were the companies from the energy sector that participated. From the healthcare space, the participants were Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Piramal Group, GE Healthcare, Providence and Sun Pharma. Samsung India, Samsung R&D and Wipro were the participants from the engineering and tech space.
The maximum offers came from Amazon, followed by Aditya Birla Group, Asian Paints, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Piramal Group, Reliance and Tata Steel.
Most of the internships were offered in the conglomerates, followed by the consulting, pharma and FMCG sectors.
