There is good news for job-seeking youth in Noida and Greater Noida. The Noida Authority, the Greater Noida Authority and the Yamuna Expressway Authority are collaborating to organise a two-day job fair on November 13 and 14.

The local development authorities are organising the fair for the youth of the area, at the Noida Shilp Haat in Sector 33A. The fair aims to provide employment opportunities to the families of farmers who have had to give up their lands for development. These farmers have been demanding jobs for their children in private companies operating in Noida and Greater Noida area, and in the industry bodies of the region.

Those seeking jobs may apply directly at the venue, provided they bring along the required documents and certificates.

The fair is aimed at connecting employers with job seekers, especially local youth. The event hopes to provide employment to family members of farmers and other locals of the region.

Since September, farmers of about 80 villages in the area have been agitating near the Noida authority office, demanding decent employment for their children.

In a bid to make themselves heard, the farmers have even stopped work at the construction sites of developers and disrupted ongoing work at government project sites.

The authorities of Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway have also faced similar work disruption due to protesting farmers, who have been demanding better compensation for the lands they gave up for development work, and employment opportunities for the children and youth in their families.
