The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has begun the new year with a significant push towards digital governance by launching Version 2.0 of its Sarige Mitra Human Resource Management System mobile application. The upgraded app reflects the corporation’s efforts to modernise internal processes and place employee convenience at the centre of administrative reforms.
Unveiled as a New Year initiative, the revamped Sarige Mitra app is designed to simplify access to human resource services for KSRTC’s large workforce. By moving several HR functions to a mobile platform, the corporation aims to improve transparency, reduce paperwork and enhance operational efficiency across depots and offices.
The app allows employees to manage key employment-related information directly from their smartphones. Attendance management has been strengthened through a geo-fencing-based system, helping ensure accuracy while tracking daily and monthly attendance records. Employees can also view personal profile details, service records and information related to family members and nominees without having to rely on manual requests.
Salary-related processes have been streamlined through features such as instant access to monthly payslips, which can be downloaded with a single click. Leave management has also been simplified, enabling employees to check leave balances and monitor usage more easily. These changes are expected to reduce administrative delays and improve clarity around entitlements.
Beyond individual services, the upgraded version places strong emphasis on internal communication. Official notifications, circulars and departmental updates are now accessible through the app, ensuring that information reaches employees quickly and uniformly. This is expected to improve coordination and reduce gaps in communication across the organisation.
With Sarige Mitra 2.0, KSRTC is taking another step towards building a digitally- enabled public transport institution. The initiative underlines the corporation’s focus on employee welfare while aligning its internal systems with broader goals of efficiency, accountability and technology-driven governance.
