Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is facing scrutiny after a former employee in Noida alleged that he was physically assaulted by members of its HR team while seeking clarification on severance pay following sudden termination. The incident, dated 19 September, had sparked public debate on workplace conduct and grievance handling.

Meanwhile, the management at TCS has taken the matter seriously and has issued a statement saying that “the allegations made are inaccurate and a misrepresentation of facts”.

Officials emphasised that the organisation has always been committed to maintaining a safe and professional work environment and that allegations of misconduct are  reviewed internally along with ongoing investigations.

TCS stated that it has engaged its internal compliance and legal teams to assess the circumstances and ensure that all processes were followed according to organisational policy. It highlighted that protecting employee rights and upholding due process are central to its human resources practices.

Additionally, the firm has expressed support for a fair and impartial inquiry, indicating that cooperation with law enforcement remains a priority. While specifics cannot be disclosed due to the investigation’s confidential nature, company representatives confirmed that any inappropriate actions, if substantiated, would be addressed in line with company policy and the law.

TCS also reiterated its commitment to improving grievance-redressal mechanisms, noting that employee concerns are always and will always be handled with transparency, professionalism and respect. It affirmed ongoing efforts to strengthen communication channels and prevent misunderstandings or escalations in future cases.

By responding publicly, the company aims to reassure employees, stakeholders, and the wider community that it prioritises ethical conduct and is taking steps to ensure that workplace complaints are resolved fairly and responsibly.

Tata group companies have lost the trust of the people once it had during Ratan Tata and other previous leader’s period. It has no more human core values it attached verry high importance rather than achieving high profits for the group companies.
The same employees who were onetime raking in profits for its companies are driven out ruthlessly in an inhumane way.
We once used to see Tata companies giving Advertisement in primetimeTV commercials placing society and community welfare as their primary objective while making profits is secondary.
It has lost its own long held image and prestige.

TCS response is bullshit. I am a TCSer and I am willing to give evidence that HR and RMG people are torturing it’s employees indiscriminately. In my location, a woman employee was groped to check if she had any recording device. She was crying at the incident. She decided not to report to police earing her reputation. TCS HR and RMG are behaving so rude. They are doing whatever they want.
An incident I want to highlight- RMG Ankita from Noida yamuna location was shouting loudly in the RMG bay saying to “put her on stop pay” just because she was writing the emails and asking for the justification of the wrong claims RMG and HR deliberately made and raised. And suddenly she was put to stop pay and access blocked so that she can no more raise her voice.

I am also a victim of TCS. I lost my job despite joining the company with so much excitement and trust. Even while I was working on a project, I was released to the bench. Although I was selected for other projects, RMG did not provide approvals. Finally, after 25 days, HR asked me to resign. I felt very disheartened, and it has been a really bad experience.

CC tv footage should be made public . After demise of Shri Ratan Tata , the ethics and values of this esteemed company has gone for a toss. Now it is coming to headlines only for wrong reasons . Earlier this company was considered at par with government owned companies for the best reason of job security though the pay bands were much smaller. May good sense prevails upon the new management.

I am an ex employee of TCS Mumbai. I too have faced such a scenario where I was held back from my promotion even though I had passed my promotion assessment, besides my appraisal was done bad by the operations manager. The VP, HR, Operations Manager, all departmental heads were involved in harassing me in some way or the other. I approached the legal team, they too were off no help since all were jointly playing their games. Finally, was Helpless and I resigned from my job with TCS.
None of the higher management employees follow the policy of handling concerns with transparency, professionalism and respect.

Even I am an ex-employee of TCS resigned in Dec 2024, as i observed values, ethics and integrity was compromised at almost every level. HR head Milind Lakkad used HR as puppets and hardworking employees became the victims who were forced for targets, Overtime leaving the associates frustrated and no job satisfaction. One can imagine the height of TCS HR mindless offer to an employee of 15+ years experience of package 4.5 LPA and after continuing the dedicated service of 9+ years remains the same with no change. We have such a sucking management in TCS since our Godly figure Ratan Tata handed over full responsibilities to the non deserving and corrupt high level management, may be few are exceptions.

This is a classic example of how greedy management destroyed culture of best Indian company for own profit, even client will think twice to give project because TCS has lost its culture, stability and all good resources either left the organisation or looking for better opportunity out side and want to leave toxic TCS. I urge govt of India to take control of affairs before TCS fails and many more people lose job.

Even my frnds who are freshers were asked to resign after not being allocated to any project. When they tried to ask for clarification, they were blackmailed by HRs that he will be imposed POSH if he don’t resign. They were not ready to answer for any of the questions. They are TCS HRs or some thugs sitting over there blackmailing us? Project allocation for freshers is something that they should give us. We are not experienced to have contacts and get into one.

All HR,RMG head and People managers who are not doing any technical delivery to customer should be fired immediately. They are the overhead on the company. The top management says there will not be any hike this year and they themselves take 4 to 6% hike eventhough they earn in crores.
Top management salary should be reduced to half as they don’t bring business every day. The actual work is done by Marketing personal
