Taiwan’s Delta Electronics to hire 3000 in India by 2029

Taiwan’s Delta Electronics has announced plans to nearly double its workforce in India over the next five years. The company aims to increase its Indian workforce by adding 3,000 employees, bringing the total to around 6,500 within five years.

The move is a part of its strategy to expand its research and development (R&D) capabilities in the country. This is also in line with the global power components supplier’s recent inauguration of its largest R&D centre in Bengaluru.

The establishment of the new R&D centre is part of a $500 million investment plan in India that was initially announced in 2015-16 but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Delta Electronics currently operates three R&D centres in India, underscoring the country’s growing role in the global technology landscape.

In addition to the new R&D centre, Delta Electronics has also decided to relocate its local headquarters from Gurgaon in northern India to Bengaluru, to be closer to its manufacturing sites in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. The decision leverages Bengaluru’s reputation as the Silicon Valley of India, known for its robust tech ecosystem and talent pool.

Delta Electronics is a Taiwan-based global leader in power and thermal- management solutions, founded in 1971 and headquartered in Taipei. The company is renowned for its innovative, energy-efficient products across various sectors, including power electronics, industrial automation and ICT infrastructure.
