The Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association (APGEA) is set to conduct its state council meeting in Vijayawada on 5 and 6 June. In view of this event, the state government has approved a one-day special leave for employees participating in the meeting.
This special leave is only applicable to government employees who are actively attending the state-level gathering. It is not a public holiday and does not apply to the general workforce. The decision is aimed at supporting employees who are involved in the association’s organisational activities.
Employees planning to attend the event must submit a formal application through their respective departments. Once participation is verified, the leave will be granted as a special casual leave. Though the APGEA had initially requested two days of leave, the government has approved only one day. The leave provides flexibility for employees who need to travel to Vijayawada and make adjustments to their work schedules.
All government departments have been advised to maintain regular operations despite the sanctioned leave. Heads of departments are instructed to ensure that essential services and daily functioning are not affected during the absence of attending employees.
