    MRG Group appoints Amitesh Osta as CHRO

    MRG Group has named Amitesh Osta as its new chief human resource officer (CHRO), underscoring its focus on building leadership strength as it accelerates growth across the hospitality sector.

    Osta brings more than 17 years of experience in FMCG, retail, and consumer businesses. He joins from Metro Cash & Carry India, where he was business head – HR, working closely with the COO on people strategy, workforce restructuring, and change management.

    His career includes leadership roles with Anheuser-Busch InBev, Johnson & Johnson, and Hindustan Unilever.

    Known for building future-ready organisations, Osta has led succession planning, mergers and acquisitions integration, and transformation of HR operations through digital solutions. His expertise spans HR strategy, talent development, organisational design, and employee relations.

    Welcoming him to the role, Dr K Prakash Shetty, founder and chairman, MRG Group, said, “Our people are at the heart of our success. As we expand and prepare for the next phase of growth, it is vital to invest in building a strong, agile workforce. Amitesh’s experience in driving HR transformation and creating scalable people strategies makes him the right leader to take our vision forward.”

    Commenting on his appointment, Osta said, “I am delighted to join MRG Group at such a pivotal stage of its journey. My focus will be on building a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged workforce that supports the Group’s ambitious growth plans and enhances its leadership position in hospitality.”

    An MBA in Human Resources from Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, Osta has received several industry accolades for his work in HR leadership. His appointment signals MRG Group’s commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening its people-first culture.
