Accenture scales Microsoft Copilot to 7.4 lakh workforce, reports productivity gains

Accenture has significantly expanded the deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot across its global workforce, marking one of the largest enterprise rollouts of AI tools to date. The company is extending access to nearly 7.4 lakh employees, moving beyond an initial rollout of 20,000 users.

The expansion reflects a phased adoption strategy that began in 2023, starting with a small pilot group before scaling up gradually. The company used early deployments to refine data governance, access controls, and usage frameworks, while closely tracking how employees integrated the tool into daily work.

According to company data from 2025, employees using Copilot reported completing routine tasks significantly faster. A majority also indicated noticeable improvements in productivity and efficiency, pointing to the tool’s growing role in everyday workflows.

The rollout has been supported by structured training programmes, internal communication campaigns, and peer-led knowledge sharing. Employees have been encouraged to experiment with the tool across platforms such as email, documents, and collaboration tools, helping build familiarity and confidence over time.

Adoption levels have remained high during the expansion. In one large deployment group, usage rates reached close to 90 per cent, with a strong proportion of employees indicating continued reliance on the tool for daily tasks.

The impact has been particularly visible in functions such as marketing and communications, where teams are using AI to draft content, maintain consistency in messaging, and reduce duplication of work. The tool is also enabling non-technical employees to take on more complex tasks, including early-stage creative development and data-driven insights.

The large-scale rollout signals a broader shift toward AI-led ways of working, as enterprises increasingly embed such tools into core business operations.
