Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh stressed the importance of structured engagement with employee representatives to strengthen administrative efficiency and support career progression across government departments.
The Minister made the remarks while chairing a meeting in New Delhi with delegations from employee organisations, including the Government Employees National Confederation and the Central Secretariat Group-C Employees Association. Discussions focused on service-related matters such as cadre restructuring, promotion opportunities and employee working conditions.
The meeting also reviewed recent progress in government promotions. Employee representatives acknowledged steps taken by the Department of Personnel and Training regarding large-scale promotions carried out in recent years. These measures were seen as efforts to improve career mobility and address long-pending workforce concerns.
During the discussions, employee bodies also highlighted several unresolved issues affecting different sections of the workforce. Matters linked to cadre restructuring, promotional avenues, allowances and pay-related concerns were raised. Special attention was drawn to pending issues impacting employees in organisations such as Survey of India and Indian Space Research Organisation.
Responding to the concerns, Singh indicated that the issues would be examined in consultation with the concerned departments. He also emphasised the need for stronger coordination mechanisms and structured follow-up to ensure timely resolution of employee service matters.
