Siddharth Sawant has joined Tata Consumer Products as director-human resources and head of HR for its Ready-to-Drink business, following more than seven years with AB InBev.

Based in Gurugram, Sawant leads the people function for the Ready-to-Drink business. The move keeps him within the beverages industry, while taking him from a career largely built around beer into Tata Consumer Products’ wider consumer beverages portfolio.

Sawant has been in the role since June 2026, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He joined AB InBev in January 2019 as senior manager-people partner for its commercial operations in eastern India. He subsequently expanded his remit to cover commercial teams across the eastern and western regions before moving into a broader role as people lead for corporate functions across India and Southeast Asia.

In that assignment, he supported functions including finance, corporate affairs, legal, procurement, technology and analytics, with responsibility for talent development, engagement and organisational transformation.

His next move took him closer to manufacturing. As associate director-people, Sawant led the people function across four breweries in the North-West region, including two in Aurangabad and one each in Sonipat and Meerut. His remit covered employee relations across white- and blue-collar workforces, compliance, productivity and capability building for senior supply-chain leaders.

He later returned to the corporate side of the business as associate director-people, corporate, leading the people agenda for AB InBev’s corporate functions until his move to Tata Consumer Products.

Before joining AB InBev, Sawant spent nearly four years with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, progressing from management trainee to HR business partnering roles supporting field forces across India. His responsibilities there included talent management, retention, performance management, recruitment and HR analytics.

Sawant’s career in HR followed an earlier stint in business development and HR with REC and Associates. During his postgraduate studies, he also gained exposure to industrial and people practices through assignments with Tata Motors, Schneider Electric, Tata Mills and Voltas.

His latest role brings together two strands of his career: experience in a consumer beverages company and exposure to both frontline operations and corporate HR. At Tata Consumer Products, that experience will now be applied specifically to the people agenda of its Ready-to-Drink business.
