ToneTag, a Bangalore-based fintech company known for its sound-based payment solutions, recently organised a family-inclusive retreat in the Andaman Islands.

The event was designed to celebrate the collective effort of employees who have contributed to the company’s rapid growth, while also strengthening team bonding across different functions. Both long-serving staff and new joiners took part, making it a company-wide experience.

The Andaman Islands were chosen for their calm and scenic setting, offering a mix of air, sea, and road travel. The destination symbolised renewal, balance, and togetherness—values that are central to ToneTag’s culture. The company also saw this as a way to support domestic tourism and contribute to the local economy.

The four-day programme focused on relaxation, sightseeing, and water activities, with plenty of informal interactions to build stronger connections. Instead of formal corporate sessions, the emphasis was on shared experiences in a stress-free environment. ToneTag’s HR leadership explained that employee happiness for the company means more than perks or events—it is about creating a workplace where people feel respected, trusted, and supported, both professionally and personally, while maintaining balance with family life.

Feedback from employees and their families was highly positive. Many described the retreat as memorable, especially because it included their loved ones.

Family members also felt valued and included in the company’s journey.

As per Vigil Thomas, head of HR, ToneTag, “Employee happiness goes beyond perks or events—it means creating an environment where people feel valued, respected, trusted, and supported, both professionally and personally. It includes well-being, growth opportunities, recognition, and the ability to balance work with family and life”.

The impact has already been seen at work, with improved morale, stronger relationships, and more open collaboration. This was ToneTag’s fourth large-scale offsite, each bigger than the last as the company grows. The retreat reflects ToneTag’s belief that long-term success depends on employee well-being, and its commitment to meaningful engagement initiatives that strengthen culture and recognise collective achievement.
