HDFC Bank, in partnership with Nasscom Foundation, has announced the launch of a Parivartan Skilling Centre in Meerut under its CSR programme, Parivartan. The centre aims to strengthen employability pathways for youth from economically and socially- marginalised communities by equipping them with industry-relevant skills.
The initiative, to be implemented under the Nasscom Foundation Skilling & Employability programme, will train 1,950 youth over a period of more than three years. Designed as a permanent, self-sustaining facility, the centre will be managed end-to-end by Nasscom Foundation, covering operations, training delivery, placements, and post-placement tracking. The model is intended to ensure consistent training quality and closer alignment between skills development and labour market demand.
The centre will offer hands-on training with exposure to real workplace environments, focusing on digital and IT-enabled services (ITeS) roles. At least 60 per cent of the beneficiaries will be women, and a minimum of 70 per cent of trained candidates are expected to secure entry-level employment in roles such as data entry operator, retail sales associate, and front office assistant. By the end of the project period, approximately 1,365 participants are expected to be placed in formal sector jobs, supporting income stability and long-term socio-economic mobility.
The curriculum integrates technical training with digital literacy and essential soft skills, including communication, customer interaction, workplace etiquette, and confidence building. Structured mentoring and post-placement support will help improve retention and early-career progression.
Commenting on the initiative, Nusrat Pathan, head-CSR, HDFC Bank, said, “Through Parivartan, our focus is on enabling meaningful and sustained livelihood opportunities by strengthening the link between skills training and employment.”
Jyoti Sharma, CEO, Nasscom Foundation, also commented, “Through this collaboration with HDFC Bank Parivartan, we aim to build a structured skilling ecosystem that combines technical training with employability support and post-placement engagement, enabling youth to enter and sustain themselves in the workforce.”
Meerut’s position as an education hub for surrounding Tier-II, Tier-III, and Tier-IV regions makes it a strategic location for the centre. Many participants are expected to be first-generation learners with limited digital exposure. Accordingly, the programme will begin with foundational digital skills such as basic computer operations, email usage, keyboarding, and productivity tools, followed by role-specific ITeS training and behavioural coaching.
