Nasscom has launched a new Talent Council to strengthen India’s digital talent ecosystem. This industry-led initiative, it is hoped, will help shape a globally-competitive, future-ready workforce capable of navigating the evolving demands of the digital economy.

The council will serve as a strategic platform that unites leaders from across sectors to co-develop a national blueprint for talent development. By focusing on skill building in deep tech, emerging technologies and digital transformation, the initiative aims to ensure that India’s workforce remains competitive on the global stage.

A key objective of the Talent Council is to foster collaboration among industry stakeholders, academic institutions and government agencies. Through this multi-sector approach, the council will work to align education and skilling programmes with the realities of the modern workplace. The initiative will also support policy advocacy to ensure workforce-related regulations are aligned with the needs of the digital economy.

Nasscom views the formation of the council as part of its broader strategy to accelerate innovation, support inclusive growth, and build resilience in the talent landscape.

The move will help cultivate specialised expertise that can drive enterprise innovation and societal progress.

In addition to developing skill-building roadmaps, the council will lead nationwide efforts to upskill and reskill workers, particularly in emerging domains such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data science.

Nasscom’s objective is to enhance India’s reputation as a global hub for digital excellence by unlocking the full potential of its talent.
