Swiggy unveils “Mom’entum 2.0” to empower working mothers

Swiggy has launched “Mom’entum 2.0”, a revamped, multi-year maternity support policy that promises to walk with women through every phase of motherhood. The move builds on its 2020 gender-neutral parental care policy and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and equitable workplace.

The enhanced programme goes far beyond basic maternity leave. It includes pre-parenthood guidance, structured return-to-work planning, extended postnatal care, and career continuity—all aimed at helping women balance their personal and professional identities with confidence.

Girish Menon, chief human resources officer, Swiggy, said the policy recognises motherhood as a long, evolving journey—not a one-time event. “Over the last decade, women at Swiggy have led impact-driven roles. This initiative is our way of backing them not just as professionals, but as people navigating one of life’s most significant transitions,” he shared.

Pre-childbirth support includes financial aid for IVF and adoption and flexible work during treatment for teams to better support expectant colleagues. The policy facilitates maternity- transition planning well in advance, ensuring clarity and alignment. Additionally, Swiggy conducts ‘What to Expect’ sessions for managers and team members—preparing them to support their colleagues with empathy and awareness during this critical period.

After maternity leave, returning mothers are offered flexible schedules or part-time roles with prorated pay, based on their personal needs. Role continuity is guaranteed—mothers rejoining work are supported through a structured reintegration plan and are offered at least three comparable internal roles if they choose to explore other opportunities within the company. They also receive mentorship from experienced Swiggy moms and guidance through the internal “Swiggy Moms Community.”

Postpartum wellness also receives focused attention with mental-health counselling, fitness resources, and expert-led recovery sessions. A structured reintegration plan further helps returning mothers ease back into work.

Swiggy’s “Mom’entum 2.0” is not just about benefits—it’s a commitment to normalising caregiving, preserving ambition, and enabling women to thrive at work and home.
