HDFC Bank has appointed Vibhash Naik as its new chief human resources officer. He will assume the role on 1 February, 2026 and will join the organisation as part of its senior management team.

Naik moves to HDFC Bank after a long 14-year stint at HDFC Life Insurance Company. At HDFC Life, he headed the human resources function and oversaw learning, development and corporate administration. For over 14 years, he contributed to building a digitally enabled HR ecosystem designed to enhance employee experience and support a strong workplace culture. His work focused on creating systems that aligned people practices with business goals. He joined the company in 2011 as its VP-HR.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Naik brings deep expertise in multiple HR domains. His experience covers talent management, organisation development, performance systems, HR technology and total rewards.

Before joining HDFC Life, he held senior HR positions across global and Indian organisations, including Lehman Brothers, Religare Macquarie, Tata Interactive and Atos Origin. These roles allowed him to work across diverse business environments, strengthening his understanding of workforce strategy.

Naik holds a master’s degree in Labour Studies from the University of Mumbai. His academic foundation, combined with decades of industry experience, positions him to lead HR transformation at HDFC Bank as it continues to expand its operations and talent base. The bank expects his appointment to support its long-term focus on building a future-ready workforce and nurturing an employee-centric culture.
