KnitWell Group has appointed Sarah Evans as its chief human resources officer (CHRO), placing her at the helm of people strategy across a portfolio of eight retail brands as the company sharpens its focus on aligning talent, culture, and business performance. In her new role, Evans will oversee the full spectrum of HR, including talent strategy, acquisition, total rewards, and HR systems.
Notably, her mandate also extends to corporate communications, belonging, and philanthropy—signalling the continued expansion of the CHRO role beyond traditional HR boundaries. As a member of the executive committee, she is expected to play a central role in shaping organisational strategy across KnitWell’s multi-brand ecosystem, which serves over 21 million customers in the US.
Evans brings significant experience managing scale and complexity across industries. She joins from Ocean Spray Cranberries, where she served as CHRO, leading global HR and corporate communications. Her tenure there involved steering people strategy in a globally-recognised, cooperative-driven business model.
Prior to that, she held multiple senior leadership roles at Terminix, where she led HR strategy during a period of organisational evolution. Earlier in her career, Evans spent nearly seven years at Walmart, working across global talent management, succession planning, executive coaching, and leadership development—experience that exposed her to workforce scales ranging from thousands to over two million employees worldwide.
Her early career included roles focused on assessment, leadership development, and organisational design at Tampa Electric Company, building a strong foundation in talent strategy and workforce planning.
Academically, Evans holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida, grounding her leadership approach in behavioural science and organisational effectiveness.
