Vivek Tripathi has announced his exit from Newgen Software, bringing to a close a 4.5-year tenure as vice president – human resources at the Indian product software company. The transition marks the beginning of a new phase in his professional journey, with a renewed focus on strategic HR consulting and academic engagement.
Tripathi is backed by over 25 years of experience in mainstream HR leadership roles, spanning manufacturing, telecom product software and retail organisations. Across these sectors, his work has consistently centred on attracting and developing talent, building strong leadership pipelines and putting in place scalable HR systems to support business growth. In addition to his corporate roles, he has spent the last several years in strategic human resources consulting, delivering assignments across telecom, IT, automobile and manufacturing companies.
At Newgen Software, Tripathi played a key role in reshaping the organisation’s people agenda during a period of change. The HR function underwent a broad revamp, with updated policies, renewed focus on leadership development and a strong emphasis on workplace learning and culture. One of the notable milestones during this phase was the company’s return-to-office transition after the pandemic, which was executed with careful planning and employee alignment.
Prior to Newgen, Tripathi has held influential HR leadership roles at organisations such as Lava International and Biba Apparels. At Lava International, his mandate was to establish robust HR systems, develop capable leaders and build a highly productive workforce to support rapid expansion. At Biba Apparels, a leading women’s ethnic wear retail brand, the focus was on building an aligned leadership team, attracting high-quality talent and fostering an excellence-driven culture to enable profitable growth.
Beyond corporate roles, Tripathi has delivered consulting engagements in areas such as talent assessment at mid to senior levels, leadership development, executive coaching, change management, HR systems design and career transition. His deep understanding of HR challenges in the telecom, IT and retail sectors has been a defining strength.
As he steps away from Newgen, Tripathi plans to deepen his work in consulting and academics. “My quest to partner with Indian companies and help them reach their full potential shall continue! Watch this space!,” he shares in his LinkedIn post.
