Kia India has joined hands with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to create a trained talent pool for the country’s automotive sector. The collaboration is aligned with the Skill India Mission and focuses on preparing professionals for a rapidly- evolving industry.
The initiative introduces a 30-day training programme. It combines 15 days of classroom learning at ASDC-certified centres with 15 days of hands-on experience at authorised Kia dealerships. Participants will learn core automotive concepts, dealership operations, and Kia-specific systems, processes and brand standards. Product knowledge will be a key focus area.
On completing the course, candidates will receive joint certification from Kia India and ASDC. They will also become eligible for recruitment into sales and service positions at Kia dealerships across the country. The programme aims to equip young professionals with technical expertise while building awareness of customer needs, especially in the context of electric vehicle adoption.
Training at dealerships will take place under expert supervision. This approach is designed to ensure that new recruits are workplace-ready from their first day on the job. The move also aims to strengthen Kia’s dealer network with skilled employees who can deliver high-quality service and customer engagement.
Kia India operates a manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, with an annual production capacity of 3,00,000 units. The automaker currently has 744 customer touchpoints in 329 cities across India.
The partnership with ASDC is expected to contribute to both employment generation and the creation of a future-ready automotive workforce.
