Nestlé India is undergoing a major leadership reshuffle, with several senior executives exiting long-held roles as the company enters a new phase of strategic and organisational transition.
Among the departures is Anurag Patnaik, head-human resources for the South Asia region, who has chosen to step down after more than two decades with the company. A long-standing member of Nestlé India’s leadership council, Patnaik has been instrumental in driving the company’s people strategy and workforce development during a period of rapid expansion. His successor is expected to be announced shortly, with both internal and external candidates being considered for the role.
An XLRI alumnus, Patnaik joined the company in the year 2005 as its management trainee.
Also exiting is Chandan Mukherji, director and senior vice president – strategy, marketing, and communication.
Having spent over 20 years with the company, Mukherji has been a key figure in strengthening brand positioning, communications, and strategic planning across Nestlé India’s portfolio.
The company’s legal function is likewise set for a change in command as Venkateswaran TS, general counsel and head-legal & compliance, prepares to retire after a distinguished three-decade career in corporate and regulatory law. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in guiding Nestlé India through evolving food safety regulations and policy challenges.
Stepping into his role from 1 January 2026 will be Dhvani Rao, currently associate general counsel – food, IP, HR & digital laws. Having joined the company in 2012, Rao has led several high-impact initiatives in digital governance, intellectual property, and employment law. Her elevation signals the company’s commitment to continuity and internal talent development in critical leadership positions.
These transitions come as Nestlé India, known for brands such as Maggi and Nescafé, continues to strengthen its leadership pipeline amid changing market dynamics, increasing regulatory oversight, and the ongoing digital transformation of the fast-moving consumer goods sector. Further updates on HR leadership and strategic restructuring are expected in the coming weeks.
