At the centre of the update is enhanced flexibility for primary caregivers

WeWork India has unveiled a refreshed set of employee- wellbeing policies, reinforcing its focus on building a more inclusive, empathetic, and future-ready workplace. Announced on 22 December, 2025, the new measures respond to evolving employee expectations around health, caregiving, and long-term personal growth.

At the centre of the update is enhanced flexibility for primary caregivers. Employees of all genders returning from parental leave—including biological, adoptive, commissioning parents, and LGBTQIA+ families—will be eligible to work from home for up to six months. The move is aimed at easing the transition back to work and supporting continuity in careers during a critical life stage.

From 55 anuary, 2026, WeWork India will also introduce a paid Women’s Wellness Leave. Women employees, including transgender women and non-binary individuals who menstruate, can avail one paid day each month. The policy uniquely extends to health needs linked to perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause—areas often overlooked in workplace conversations—signalling a shift towards greater openness and dignity around women’s health.

The company has further introduced a sabbatical policy for long-serving employees. Those completing five years with the organisation can take up to one month of unpaid leave to rest, learn, volunteer, or pursue personal interests, recognising the importance of renewal over long careers.

Commenting on the wellness strategy, Priti Shetty, chief people and culture officer, WeWork India, said, “Employees today manage diverse health needs, shifting family structures and evolving aspirations for meaningful personal growth. These policies address three critical realities – menstrual and menopausal health directly impacts workplace participation, the transition back from parental leave can shape career trajectories, and long-term contribution requires periodic renewal. By embedding this support into our culture, we are strengthening both our people and our organisation, and setting a new standard for inclusive employment in India.”

Alongside these initiatives, WeWork India has strengthened its health insurance framework for 2026. Enhancements include higher coverage for pre- and post-natal expenses, expanded support for mental health treatments, coverage for medical equipment following accidents, planned sterility procedures, and preventive care such as cervical vaccinations. Employees can also choose from six new customisable add-ons to tailor coverage to their needs.

Together, these updates underscore WeWork India’s continued commitment to people-first practices, setting new benchmarks for wellbeing, inclusion and modern workplace culture in India.
