Srinivasu Malladi has been appointed chief human resources officer (CHRO) at Bharat Forge. The move is expected to strengthen the leadership team of the Kalyani Group flagship as it continues to expand across global engineering and manufacturing markets.
Malladi confirmed the development in a recent LinkedIn post. The move places him at the helm of the company’s end-to-end human resources strategy at a time when large industrial companies are investing heavily in workforce transformation and leadership capability.
In his current role, Malladi leads the HR function for a diverse workforce of more than 15,000 employees across multiple business units and locations. According to details shared on his LinkedIn profile, his mandate includes partnering with CXOs and promoters to drive HR strategy, organisational transformation and talent development while supporting the company’s business growth.
He is also responsible for HR shared services across 10 legal entities within the Kalyani Group, aimed at delivering a seamless, technology-driven employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle—from hire to retire.
Prior to becoming CHRO, Malladi served as VP-HR at Bharat Forge, where he worked closely with senior leadership on areas such as HR transformation, organisation redesign, talent development and industrial relations. His responsibilities include spearheading end-to-end HR operations, while fostering high-performing teams that can support the company’s expansion across global markets. His role also involves aligning HR practices with business strategy, driving a culture of performance and accountability across the organisation.
Malladi brings over 22 years of experience in human resources leadership across sectors such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, manufacturing and technology. Throughout his career, he has anchored HR functions for large-scale businesses and complex workforce environments.
Before joining Bharat Forge, he served as senior director – human resources, Jubilant Ingrevia, where he led HR and industrial relations across manufacturing sites nationwide and worked closely with CXOs on talent development, succession planning and compliance programmes.
Earlier, he was head-HR, manufacturing, Granules India, where he oversaw HR for a manufacturing organisation of more than 5,500 employees across six factories, managing talent strategy, organisation design, change management and employee relations.
Malladi has also held HR leadership roles at GSK Consumer Healthcare and Johnson & Johnson, where he worked extensively in unionised manufacturing environments, leading workforce planning, capability development and collective bargaining initiatives.
Across these roles, he has developed deep expertise in industrial relations and employee relations, handling complex workforce situations such as strikes, lockouts, voluntary retirement schemes and long-term wage settlements with trade unions. His experience also includes HR strategy during mergers and acquisitions, organisational redesign and cultural integration.
Earlier in his career, Malladi worked with organisations such as Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, NCR Corporation and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam. He also served as a Class-1 civil servant in the Government of Andhra Pradesh, where he worked on development administration, rural credit and cooperative systems.
Malladi holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Hyderabad. He also earned a BCom (Honours) degree from Osmania University.
Over the years, he has built strong expertise in HR strategy, industrial relations, organisational transformation, data-driven HR decision-making and talent development, with a particular focus on building future-ready organisations.
