Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has announced that Sanjay Sharma will assume the additional role of chief human resources officer (CHRO), effective December 1, 2025. The appointment follows the departure of Archana Bhaskar, whose tenure concludes on November 30.

Sharma, currently global head of operations and senior management personnel at DRL, will take on the full HR portfolio just as the company intensifies its digital-transformation and global-growth agenda. In his new role, he will be tasked with strengthening talent strategy, workforce capability, and cultural alignment across DRL’s international operations. He joined DRL in 2017.

With over 25 years of experience spanning manufacturing, supply-chain and operations—previously including senior roles at The Coca Cola Company and United Breweries—Sharma brings a strong record of process-excellence and large-scale operations leadership. His elevation to CHRO underscores DRL’s strategy of promoting internal talent into leadership roles to ensure continuity and alignment across functions.

Sharma brings a diverse portfolio of expertise built over nearly three decades in global operations and business leadership. His core strengths lie in leading large-scale business transformations and building consumer-centric supply chains that balance efficiency with agility. Having driven exponential scale expansion in complex, multi-market environments, he is known for fostering a culture of continuous improvement through operational excellence. Sharma has been instrumental in institutionalising robust systems and processes to sustain growth while ensuring operational resilience.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Sharma holds a BTech in chemical engineering from IIT Delhi.

Sharma’s appointment is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of DRL’s growth—both through workplace transformation and talent development—while also anchoring HR as a strategic driver of value rather than a supporting function.
