Industry veteran, Emmanuel David, has joined Altius as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). Prior to this, David was associated with DM Aster Healthcare as its member, board of directors.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, David has spent a decade at the Tata Group. He started his career with Hindustan Motors in the year 1983, and has served in the HR domain for more than three decades.
In his long career he has worked for multiple brands, including Eicher, The Oberoi, Shriram Honda, Volvo India, SREI Infrastructure Finance and Ramky Group.
In 1985, David joined Eicher as its personnel manager and after seven years, in 1992, he joined The Oberoi. His next stop was Shriram Honda where his association lasted for two years.
In the year 1997, he moved to Volvo India as its head-HR. In this role, he was responsible for managing the company’s human resources functions along with, administration, corporate relations and CSR.
After six years, in 2004, David joined Gujarat Gas Company as director-HR. In 2008, David moved to GMR Group as VP-corporate talent management and strategic projects. In this role, he was responsible for talent management for the group particularly in the areas of leadership development, career planning and succession planning resourcing of senior talent.
His next stop was Ramky Group, where he joined as group head-HR and in 2011, David moved to SREI Infrastructures as its CHRO. In this position, he was responsible for talent management and leadership development for all group companies.
In 2012, David joined Voltas as executive VP and CHRO, overseeing HR, administration, environmental health and safety, and sustainability. He further addressed the company’s critical talent needs via targeted recruitment efforts, and resolved legacy issues to re-establish management authority through collaborative stakeholder engagement.
In 2015, David joined Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), as its director. Driving organisation success through effective management of this leadership development institute, he administered programmes enhancing the capabilities of promising management talent as well as existing executive leaders. He also created training sessions to support deployment of wide-ranging culture initiatives.
David has served as a mentor at Columbia University Centre for Technology Management. He mentored in the Executive Master of Science programme in technology management to offer students valuable insights into the practices, experiences, and principles that define a successful leader in technology management.
