McDonald’s Corporation has named Saumya Mittal as its new chief people officer (CPO) for Asia, effective August. In her new role, Mittal will focus on advancing McDonald’s people-first culture, working closely with leaders and teams across Asia to champion the company’s talent agenda.
Mittal brings close to 20 years of HR leadership experience, having worked with global organisations, including Google and PepsiCo. Her appointment marks a key move for McDonald’s as it continues to expand in Asia, one of its fastest-growing regions.
Prior to this, Mittal was associated with Google as its APAC commercial HR head. She joined the company in the year 2017. She was associated with PepsiCo for over 10 years, having joined in the year 2007 as a management trainee.
Over the years, she has built a strong reputation for driving talent strategies across diverse markets and strengthening workplace cultures.
In her post on LinkedIn, Mittal expressed her excitement on the appointment. “The opportunity to partner with our exceptional leaders and talent is immense! Asia is a vibrant and growing market, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team to champion our people agenda,” she added.
Mittal holds a PGDHRM degree from the Management Development Institute in Gurugram.
