Syngenta Group, which primarily works in the agriculture technology and crop solutions space, has elevated Armaan Seth to the position of global head-HR for the Group’s crop-protection business. In this role, Seth will lead the people function for the crop protection business which is a 15 billion dollar revenue venture for the Group.
Seth had joined Syngenta as the head of HR, just two years ago, leading the Company’s Asia Pacific Region including Japan, ASEAN and Australia/New Zealand. He comes with diverse experience in varied markets across sectors such as agriculture, medical devices, consumer durables and even FMCG.
Before Syngenta, Seth was with Philips India, heading the HR function for South Asia. During his more than eight-year stint with the Company, which is the longest for him with any firm, he worked in various local and global markets for the Company in the HR domain.
Human resources was not the domain Seth had begun his career with. In fact, he started out as a financial auditor and two years into the job, he decided to pursue further studies.
He made it to XLRI Jamshedpur, where he managed to complete an MBA in human resources and industrial relations. Armed with an MBA, Seth joined Marico, where he spent almost five years. The last position he held at Marico was that of HR manager.
