Applied Materials India has inaugurated its new 8.06 lakh square-foot workplace at International Tech Park Bengaluru (ITPL), designed to support its expanding workforce in India and create a best-in-class environment for learning, collaboration and employee wellbeing.

The new facility reflects Applied Materials’ focus on building long-term careers in India’s semiconductor ecosystem by offering employees a modern, inclusive, and sustainable workplace that enhances productivity while prioritising physical and mental wellbeing.

Commenting on the new campus, Priyank Kharge, minister for electronics, IT & BT and rural development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka, said, “With a strong focus on R&D and innovation, Karnataka’s semiconductor ecosystem is steadily moving up the value chain and strengthening India’s journey toward becoming a product nation.”

Avi Avula, president, Applied Materials India, said, “Our new Bengaluru facility embodies our commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence. This investment comes at a pivotal moment for India’s rapidly-advancing semiconductor ecosystem.”

The workplace has been thoughtfully designed to support diverse ways of working, with flexible collaboration zones, quiet focus areas, recovery spaces, and informal social hubs that encourage connection and creativity. Design elements throughout the building promote ease of movement, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging for employees.

Employee wellbeing and sustainability are core to the campus design. The facility targets USGBC LEED Gold certification and features abundant natural daylight, biophilic elements, energy-efficient systems, and responsible materials—creating a healthy work environment while reducing environmental impact.

The campus also serves as a key enabler for talent development, complementing Applied Materials’ India Validation Centre, advanced clean-room facilities, and AI Centre of Excellence.

Together, these capabilities provide employees with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies, continuous learning opportunities, and career growth in high-impact semiconductor roles. Through this new Bengaluru workplace, Applied Materials continues to invest in its people, strengthening India’s semiconductor talent pipeline while offering employees an environment designed to help them thrive.
