L&T Finance has formally designated its chief human resources officer, Shatabdi Basu Gupta, as senior management personnel, reinforcing the growing strategic importance of HR leadership within the company’s governance framework.
The classification became effective on 27 May, 2026, following approval by the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, according to a regulatory filing submitted under SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements framework.
Prior to this, she spent more than 25 years with Larsen & Toubro across multiple senior HR leadership positions.
Her most recent assignment at the engineering and infrastructure conglomerate was as head-human resources for the Transportation Infrastructure Independent Company. Earlier, she led Compensation & Benefits for the group for nearly seven years and also held leadership roles.
Over the course of her career, she has built expertise across HR strategy, organisational design, compensation and benefits, governance frameworks, operational effectiveness and workforce transformation initiatives. Her experience also includes HR analytics, business partnering and organisation-development interventions.
Before joining Larsen & Toubro, she worked with Torrent Pharmaceuticals as an HR executive.
An alumna of Xavier Institute of Social Service, Gupta began her academic journey with a postgraduate degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from University of Hyderabad. She is also a certified Organisation Development practitioner.
The move comes as financial services firms increasingly position HR leadership closer to core business strategy, with organisations focusing heavily on workforce capability, succession planning, leadership development and long-term organisational agility.
