A scheme has been rolled out by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which offers cashless medical facility to government staff, pensioners and their family members who are dependent on them. Those eligible under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme, will be given a State Health Card using which they will be able to enjoy cashless medical facilities at institutions, medical colleges and hospitals run by the government. The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has ruled that as per Article 311 of the Indian Constitution, even temporary employees are protected.
