Varroc Engineering has appointed Avijit Roy as group chief human resources officer, effective 10 April, 2026. He will report to Arjun Jain, whole time director and CEO – *Business I*. The move comes as the company sharpens its focus on building a future-ready organisation aligned with its global growth plans.
In his new role, Roy will lead the group’s HR strategy across India and international markets. His mandate includes strengthening organisational capability, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving talent transformation in a rapidly- evolving mobility ecosystem.
Roy brings over 27 years of experience across automotive and manufacturing sectors. Most recently, he was senior vice president–global human resources, Aditya Birla Group. In this role, he led global HR for a multi-billion-dollar business spanning more than a dozen countries. He drove large-scale initiatives across organisational effectiveness, leadership development, and strategic workforce planning. He also led global learning frameworks, introduced AI-enabled capability building, and supported post-merger cultural integration.
Earlier, he served as regional HR head for Asia, where he partnered with business leaders to drive transformation across diverse markets, including supporting expansion into China and managing complex industrial relations environments. His career also includes leadership roles at Hero Motors, Tesco, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Hindustan Unilever.
Roy takes over from Kavita Kulkarni, who has served as group CHRO for seven years. During her tenure, she played a key role in shaping the company’s people agenda. She led initiatives around leadership development, talent pipelines, and workforce planning, helping build a resilient and globally- aligned organisation.
Commenting on the appointment, Arjun Jain said, “Avijit comes onboard with demonstrated ability to build agile, future-ready organisations and align talent strategy with business priorities in varied environments. As we drive the next phase of growth, his leadership will ensure our growth is sustainable from a people perspective. Jain also appreciated Kavita Kulkarni’s “invaluable contribution to helping us evolve into an agile, people- first organisation.”
Roy expressed enthusiasm about joining the organisation at a pivotal moment. He highlighted the opportunity to build a future-ready workplace that combines human insight with emerging technologies while driving long-term value. “I look forward to nurturing a culture that empowers people, drives performance, and creates sustainable long-term value,” he added.
