Vikram Solar has appointed Biresh Ranjan Das as its new senior vice president – human resources. Based in Kolkata, Das will be responsible for leading the company’s people and culture strategy at a time when the organisation is scaling up operations in India and overseas.
In his new role, Das will work closely with the leadership team to align workforce priorities with Vikram Solar’s long-term growth ambitions. His mandate includes strengthening organisational capability, building leadership depth, and ensuring that people practices support the company’s expanding manufacturing and global presence.
Das will oversee key areas such as workforce planning, organisation design, productivity enhancement, and leadership development. A major focus will be on formalising people processes and creating robust talent pipelines to meet the evolving requirements of the clean energy industry.
With over two decades of professional experience, Das brings a diverse background spanning manufacturing, telecom, hospitality, infrastructure, and global shared services. He is known for his hands-on approach to scaling teams and aligning human resources strategies with complex business needs across multiple locations.
Most recently, he was associated with Indorama Ventures, where he served as Fibers head HR – APAC, and earlier led HR for its Global Business Services operations. He has also held chief human resources officer roles at Luxor Writing Instruments and Titagarh, where he supported transformation, large-scale manufacturing operations, and global expansion.
Earlier in his career, Das held senior HR leadership positions at Bharti Airtel, managing people capability for one of the company’s largest circles, and at Larsen & Toubro’s ECC division, overseeing HR and industrial relations for large infrastructure clusters. He also brings consulting experience through his venture UBUNTU – Partnering People Excellence, where he led cross-border organisation design and transformation assignments.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Das is passionate about disruptive HR innovation, and driven by an urge to transform, lead, facilitate and catalyse the creation of world class human capital.
